NOTICE: During competition days, the access road and parking lots at the Nordic Heritage Center will be closed to all vehicles except those with parking permits given by the JO Organizing Committee. Security will be at the entrance to the access road and will be checking for that permit which should be laid on the dash of the vehicle in plain sight. Any vehicle that does not have a permit, will be asked to turn around and use the shuttle buses (schedule) that will be running from the Aroostook Centre Mall.
Please assist us, do not come to the venue in a personal vehicle if you don't have a permit.
The entities hosting the video do not have the computing power to host 200-300 people all at once. The JO Organizing Committe has decided that, to be fair, each connection will have a limited life. This will allow more people to get a glimpse of the activities.
Welcome to Our Neck of the Woods
On behalf of our major sponsors, The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) and Key Bank, the members of the 2010 USSA Cross Country Junior Olympic Organizing Committee welcome you to the City of Presque Isle. We are very excited to host this major Nordic skiing event and the hundreds of athletes, coaches and families it has brought to our northern Maine area.
We know you will be impressed with the trails and facilities at the Nordic Heritage Center. This world-class venue features a 6500 square foot lodge, 20 kilometers of ski trails, 20 miles of marked mountain bike trails, 2.5 kms of lighted trails, 1-km paved roller ski loop, a 30-point biathlon range, a visitors center with ski rentals, a Terrain Park, and a wax building with 26 separate wax rooms.
The City of Presque Isle is a community of 10,000 people nestled in the rolling hills of central Aroostook County. Agriculture has been the backbone of the area with the "potato" as the star crop. Recently celebrating its Sesquicentennial, the city has grown into an industrial, intellectual, recreational, and shopping center for the County. We hope you enjoy your stay here and have a chance to enjoy the life "off-venue." If you have questions about where to go or what to do, ask any of the locals or try this website: http://www.visitaroostook.com.
